COMMENTS FROM “ART AS A SPIRITUAL PRACTICE”

PARTICIPANTS

“Loved this class. Full of thought and creativity! A refuge for the creative mind.” Irene

“There were a lot of interesting courses available, but I chose this one because it seemed intriguing, courageous, and unique; it has proven to be insightful, inspiring, tranquil, and uplifting. I highly recommend this class to anybody interested in expanding the way they approach their art practice. Great class. Thanks.” Anne

“I loved, loved, loved your class. The best thing I’ve ever taken here. It’s been very enlightening.” Janice

“I have to tell you I had a breakthrough in your workshop yesterday. Because of my training as a dancer I never saw the point in drawing “it” on a flat surface when I could move “it” though space. But yesterday when we were moving the drawing, and later as I just followed the drawing process, I finally got it. Drawing is movement! And I began to ask my object questions as I drew, and the answers emerged in the drawing. I’m so excited. I’m prepared to give up my sermon-writing Saturdays because this is too important to miss.” Dena

“This is amazing. With only one session you changed my whole approach to what I do. And the effects are like ripples, changing everything I touch. I can’t believe the information you give us, and the great philosophical discussions the group has after the workshop. And you’re so subtle about it – just gently pulling stuff out of us without our really being aware of it. I’m on a high for weeks until the next session. Thank you.” Cheryl

“Thank you so much. This was so wonderful. I only wish I had had something like this years ago. I’m just so glad to know you.” Sue

“I can’t begin to tell you what this has meant to me. I come from a family of very creative and artistic people – my brother is a professional artist – and I was always the only one who didn’t have it. Now I know that I do have it, and I know how to begin. I’m definitely making the commitment to come to all of them.” Lauren

“I can’t thank you enough. You did an amazing job of leading us inside. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for, and I’m so excited. Sign me up for all of them.” Svarna

“I’ve never done drawing this way. I always try too quickly to “get it right”, and then either give up or settle. By taking my time and attending to the process, allowing myself to continue to draw over and over the same form, I really got to the essence of it. Now I’m so psyched to try more of this, and to get into the studio. I’m definitely coming back. And I want to work one-on-one with you.” Elizabeth

“This was so centering and affirming. I really needed this. Thank you.” Ruth

COMMENTS FROM DIVE PARTICIPANTS

“I Was Lost and Found My Direction Thanks to Pat. When I lost my husband several years ago, my heart broke but it also broke open to a realization. I realized that we are more than the external life narrative that we tell ourselves.  For many years my outer life narrative played out as a senior vice president of a company. I paid the bills and lived well on my earnings but lived someone else’s dream and not my own. My life purpose was suppressed as I was not expressing my life from a soul level.   As the prospect of retirement approached I felt lost. I embarked on a journey to find myself and found Pat.  After the first conversation I knew that her coaching would move my thinking forward. In successive phases of specific art and writing exercises we explored my deepest self, revealing what I need and don’t need while discovering the gifts I have and need to share.  Each exercise built on the previous until I emerged out of the darkness into awareness of my deepest self and the direction my life could take in rhythm with my soul.  Thank you Pat for this remarkable inner work and the prospect of moving forward at the deepest level as I continue my life journey. ”

“For some reason I was avoiding this assignment – feeling more comfortable with the outer world of tasking.  But today I sat down and wrote.  It was like a catharsis and many deep emotions were released. The first 3 minutes of writing was rather negative while the next segment got brighter and the last felt like liberation and release.  Wow!”

“Wow again!  Very insightful exercise.  The images I created are powerful.”

“This work is very insightful.  Thank you.”

“Wow – another insightful piece of work.  It was very challenging, emotional and very worthwhile. “

“With your help I have all those wonderful creative tools to help me battle the demon when it rears its ugly head.”

“I think the work we’ve been doing together combined with what I’ve explored on my own over time has helped plant seeds for transformation. In the last few weeks I’ve started to feel some of my creative blocks melting away.”

“Thanks so much again for all your wonderful support, wise and encouraging words, and for being my greatest motivator and inspiration.”

“You’re remarkably good at this work and I really believe you’ll do wonders.”

“This exchange has been incredibly rewarding for me.”

“I wanted once again to let you know how much I appreciate all the work you’ve done with me. It was extremely helpful and instrumental in moving me beyond my creative blocks and into action. I think you’re exceptional at this, and I hope you’re getting the same feedback from your ongoing workshop participants.”
